VNZMA!!!

Well for those of you that DON'T know (are there even people taht dont know?) the VNZMA stands for the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards, where all of Nz's talented musicians are awarded for there achievements. Ladyhawke! won 6 awards!!!!!! Holy moly! And she's kiwi! So she's awesome. Midnight Youth won heaps aswell I think about 4! But Gin, sadly wasn't even nominated :(. So she can win the muddy cow award for biggest lips! :D

Well as you can see, we havent really kept up to our schedules well. But as you can tell from the header at the top of this page, it is nearing to halloween! we will post something about it on the day but in the meantime enjoy this clip.

Where In The World?

Since Sam is shifting house, I've decided to do this weeks where in the world.

Today I've chosen to find out about Japan!

Yes Japan is relatively the same size as NZ but has many many more people than NZ.

Population: 125 million people in an area of 377000 Km2

Flag: Red dot on white (the dot represents the sun)

Food: Sushi, is a seaweed-fish based food with rice, usually served with wasabi and soy sauce.

Currency: Yen
Capital: Tokyo

Famous mountain is MT Fuji

Kabuki Theatre is one of Japan's most popular performing arts. The actors always dress in magnificient Kimonos and wear white make up. Originating in the 17th Century, these dramas have elaborate sets and combine speech, poetry, dance and music.

So that's pretty much Japan in a nutshell.

News bulletin! Tsunami Warnings Reduced To Nothing

Yes, it was a wacky wednesday for NZ and Samoa and other Pacific Regions as a massive 8.3 earthquake off the coast of America-Samoa just before 7:00AM caused a 6m tsunami to crash into the Samoan islands. Tsunami warnings were put in place in the north eastern regions of NZ as the tsunami was to travel down to and hit East Cape at exactly 9:44AM. I interviewed my father at precisely 9:42AM who was in the midst of this comotion. I quote him, "we were evicted from the beach and were told to go up a hill. Rather scary, cars in the paddics and people watching everywhere. No signs of huge waves as of yet...". As time went on the tsunami warnings were downgraded to alerts and in the end a sheet of water which measured 40cm weakly hit the coast of East Cape. Although, Samoa who were less fortunate than NZ was, atleast 100 deaths, 1 kiwi, have been confirmed, the death toll rising by the hour. A man in Samoa as the wave was hitting had this to say. "Um, we are just walking up this hill now, water everywhere. It just came into the resort we were staying at...". As of now, there is no threat as it ended at 12:00Pm today. Aftershocks are to be monitored if any. We will keep you posted, if need be.

Games Review 2 AND 3. Finally!

Ok, I've been a little off track on the reviews, BUT I'm going to be back on track now. To make up for my slack, you guys are goona get two reviews in one!

First up, a personal favourite, EYEZMAZE!

Yup, it's a pretty cool place, where, in many games, you determine the outcomes of certain games!

The GROW series games include:

-GROW tower.

-GROW cube

-GROW RPG

-GROW v3

-GROW v2

-GROW v1

GROW tower

Is basically, you select one of the 5 options on the left. They are dropped down at the bottom, and if in a certain order something will happen :O (Can give away what that happen is, but you can go find out yourself!). If you get it in the wrong order, it will just be incomplete.

GROW cube

Is my personal fave, because you have so many options, and the final, correct outcome, is amazing! The final outcome is a cube (obviously) but it is like a home to those little people things. Pretty awesome.

GROW RPG

Is a game kind of GROW. You are this person and you have to select options carefully to beat the dragon. It's fairly easy once you get the hang of it, but well thought out.

GROW v3

Is an improved version (actually it's completely changed) of GROW v1 and v2. You get twelve options to the sides which, when are pressed, are sucked into the middle. In the end when everything is correct, it will create a cool planet thing.

GROW v2

I like this one. You get to make robots and your aim is to have them all at their best levels. If you do an option at the wrong time, then you'll end up having your robots killing eachother. Pretty funny.

GROW v1

Theres this seed/egg thing. You get two options most turns, and you have to choose the right path, if not it will be this weird thing. It is a weird game though :P

Thats it for the GROW series. But there is heaps more!

For example, there's "JOBs" and "miniGROW". Which are quite cool too. I won't go into detail for these, you're just going to have to check it out yourself :D

Overall I rate this whole game site 9.9/10, because it can get repetitive, but it's still a boredom killer! You can go there now @ http://www.eyezmaze.com/

Now for the second game review!

Hmmmmmm....Oh, I got the perfect game.

Has anyone ever thought, hmm I wish I could play deal or no deal, and not win money? (probably not the "and not the win money" part, but still!).

Well today, you can play it! It's a bebo application, and is pretty awesome, although has a few bugs and is the NZ version. You have to refresh the page everytime you start a new game, 'cause it just stuffs :P.

I rate it 5/10 because the bugs need to be sorted out.

News Rap! With Lindz

Well It's time for this weeks news rap up!

Come to think of it its the first one ever. Well then I better explain how this works.

I pretty much tell you what happened to me and my mates this week. Yeah, pretty exciting aye? I'll also include pictures of what we did this week as well as a movie clip.
It's been a tough and strenuous week.

Monday, was my girlfriend Natalie's last day, quite sad.

Tuesday, two things happened! Natalie left to l.a then to Scotland and it was my best friend (and Sams girlfriend =p) Emma's birthday. She's 15! woah :P.

Wednesday, I had two exams, how fun it was... while Sam and the gang had school.

Thursday nothing happened

Today I had an English exam.

Hier quand il pleuvait j'ai regardé le télévision avec ma mère, Nous avons regardé Shortland Street à sept heures parce que c'est notre émission préféré.

Ma mère elle est plus parasseuse que moi. Elle adore jouer aux cartes toujours. Je lui téléphone tous les soirs parce qu'elle à la maison tous les jours.

Patty and Selma, Double Trouble!

Yes it's that time of the week for another animation report with Lindz! This week I decided to do a little research about the twin chain smokers from The Simpsons, Patty and Selma Bouvier.

Patty and Selma, (according to wikipedia) are in their 40's. They are the twin sisters of Marge Simpson. They are known for the husky voices and their intense hate towards Homer and strange obsession over Macgyver. Both (infact the whole Bouvier family) are voiced by Julie Kavner.

Patty

Patty is a lesbian. Yes it's true. This is revealed in the episode "There's Something About Marrying" where Patty almost marrys a woman but finds out it's a man and calls the wedding off. Her job is civil servant DMV. She, unlike her Selma, has a stronger hate towards Homer Simpson and shows no care about his well being.

Selma

Selma (Selma Bouvier-Terwilliger-Hutz-McClure-Stu-Simpson) has, as you can probably tell by the name, been married a few times. She does not show as much resent towards Homer as her sister does, even sometimes, she shows happines towards him. This is because she had to pretend she had a husband so she could adopt a child. She adopted a chinese baby named Ling and she is greatful for Homer for helping her out. Selma's job is also Civil Servant DMV. After her several failed marriges, she finds comfort in her pet Jubjub the Iguana.

I chose to report about these two stunning creatures (:P), because they always make me laugh! My favourite things these two say area "aww Jubjub" and "Ooooooogh yeahhhh" and "Hmmmmmmm".

Ginger Nuts!

Definitely my favorite biscuit, the ginger nut has been a family favorite in New Zealand for many generations.

With is hard and crunchy texture, and only %1 ginger, it foresees the crown of king cookie!

Ginger Nuts have been in the spotlight resonantly, as the factory has been moved to Auckland, they were baked in a Gas oven, not a fan, therefore burning them slightly,

Griffins decided to change something (could be recipe or cooking time) and sending wellington into a ginger nut shortage, this was quickly recovered and are now fine!

MSN Entertainment! Tic-A-Tac Poker.

Yes! That's right! Tic-A-Tac Poker!

For those who have not played, Tic-A-Tac Poker is a game of luck and skill. It's pretty much Poker and Tic Tac Toe fused into one super game! For all those who have Msn, I highly recommend playing! The aim is to make as much combos as you can. Each player has a nine square grid (Hence the Tic-A-Tac). There a five cards displayed in the centre of the game screen. Each player takes turns choosing one card a placing it onto one of your nine squares. The person with the most points at the end wins!
As you can see from above, there are also cards you wouldn't see in an everyday pack of cards. (I'm not refering to the joker because they are in everyday packs of cards, but oh well). The "robber" is used to "rob an opponents card. The negative effect is that the person gets to place two cards next turn. The "joker" is pretty much a wild card.

You can score a range of combos such as: pairs, straights three of a kind, flush, straight flush, royal straight flush.

Me and my companion Sam, have much experience in this game. The cool thing is you can team up with your mate and face the computers. We have beaten them on all levels! (beginner, skilled and expert!). See if you can beat them and comment us when you do!

Overall I rate this game 9.8/10!

Yzma The Ugly!

Yes, you read right! I am indeed posting about the great animated fictional villain Yzma from the Emperors New Groove. Yzma is a scheming old woman whose intention is to become Emperor. The woman thinks she is very beautiful but obviously she has not looked in the mirror :P. She is known for devising extreme plans to destroy Kuzco, the Emperor. For example, "I'll put him(Kuzco) in a box! I'll put the box in a box then put the box in a bigger box and then send him to myself and smash him with my hammer! Or... I'll just KILL him.....!". Quite a hysterical character, who seems to always make me laugh. Also, she is known for always keeping a well stocked cabinet of various potions which change people into various animals. The most famous from the movie is when she gives Kuzco a potion which turns him into a llama!

My favourite though, is from the series , The Emperors New School, is when she decides to become the ugliest person in the universe, to scare Kuzco to death. She drinks the bright pink potion and with a poof of smoke, the ugliest person in the universe appears. Ironic how she didn't change.

Can you see the resemblence between Eartha Kitt, the voice actor of Yzma, and Yzma herself? I can.
